  • Where did YOU find God?

I was listening to The Fray's song, "You Found Me", and I've read that the songwriter wrote this from a hard time he was going through (and at the time of explanation still going through).
Sometimes we go through some tough times and we do not know what we need to do to get out of it or where we need to go or even if we will live through it and we cry out in desperation, "where are you, Lord!?"
Sometimes God comes back to us in a still small voice and sometimes he thunders and reminds us of who we are, for in it all He didn't just "find us" because He was always there with us.

Have you felt this way? How did you handle it? Did you feel as though God was too far away or did not care? How do you deal with these doubts when they cloud your vision?

Since I've become a Christian, there have only been 2 times I can think of when I have felt God was whispering his whereabouts to me. All the other tough times (and there have been a lot) He's been right there with me, thundering his love, and in many of the times, carrying me when I was too weak to move. Music has always offered so much strength to me. For a few of the major "show yourself God" tough moments, the song "Lean On Me" has been heard. Whether on the radio, or popping into my head, or by a homeless man singing it on the streets, that song has been there when I've stumbled.

As for dealing with the doubts, there are some times I find my myself wishing to wallow in them. But most of the time it is only a short time before I question where the doubt is coming from. Because I know my God would never leave me. Note: I have never really thought of Satan being in the picture, only recently has this terminology/image come to mind, however depending on yours, Satan is probably where the doubt comes from.
