One of my favourite Christmas carols is "We wish you a Merry Christmas". I've sang it so many times in my lifetime when we use to go caroling back in South America (and sometimes here in the USA) and every time we get to the verses about the figgy pudding I was always amused. I mean, figgy pudding? What is that? It just sounds so ... funny!
Of course, now that I have Google at my finger tips I can
google, not only what figgy pudding is but how to make it. I found that some of the main ingredients in this pudding is the rum (and other alcoholic beverages)! I just have to say, as a caroler, if we received the "real" figgy pudding every time we demanded it in the song we'd be mighty sloshed by the end of the night. hehe ^_^
