  • Just some notes ...

I will probably have to sit down and really write about this at another time (I hope I remember). However, I wanted to put some notes here ::

In order to GROW we need to have a few things ::

Daily food - study the word
Fresh air - pray often ... Prayer is the oxygen of the soul (pray
    without ceasing)
Regular exercise - put into practice what you have learned in God's word
Adequate rest - rely on God in faith at all times. Rest in him
Clean surroundings - beware of where you are and what you take into your body
Loving care - be part of a church that you will benefit from with
    community you will benefit from.

    1 cor 3:1-3

    Three basic kinds of Christians:
+ baby - demands a great deal of attention, needs to be looked after
and loved. When you are a baby you do things that you wouldn't do as
    an adult.
(Babies are servants, they are not able to come into full inheritance. Gal 4:1-7)

+ carnal - flesh, living of the flesh. You can become caught up with
the things of the world or yourself. Looking foremost for self
    gratification.
Satisfying the man so God takes the back burner. The flesh is like
gravity it pulls you even though you were growing in Christ because it
    has been stopped.

+ spiritual - the person who is completely abandoned in Christ. Who is
living through the word of God.

do you believe a person can be a carnal Christian? "a man cannot serve two masters, God and himself...he will love one and hate the other"...or something like that. i know we can all get distracted at times, but if when tested we always choose ourselves, i would question if we know the Lord at all.

@quiet_strength - I think being a "carnal christian" is the beginning of us not being a christian at all because you are right, we cannot serve two masters. being carnal chucks God down to last place and self up to first place and in a sense it stops your spiritual walk and growth. you miss spiritual truths, however, there is hope and there is redemption ... at least while on this earth.
