  • In the words of Plumb

Have you ever found an artist who's lyrics speak to you with such force that you think they are watching your life and talking about you? I find that in Plumb. Her words reach out to me and I'm able to relate to almost all her songs on some level. Whenever I'm down I always go back to her songs. Whenever I'm happy I like to listen to her songs. She seems to have a song for each season of my life. And so, without further ado I present a story of life in the words of Plumb.

Cold is the throne of her hardened heart
No one has seen the softest part
Day after night she holds an ache
but won't budge to show the secret layers
Well is it so wrong to hang onto hers?
Maybe she could set it free

'Cause she's so nice, naive, and beautiful
Why did she get taken for granted?
Why does she live in a world so cold?
He took advantage of the nice, naive, and the beautiful

We're all dealt our lumps of coal
What you do with it can turn beautiful

Well there's life outside of your madness
and there's a face behind every scar
But there's a love overflowing with gladness
Get out of that place that's restraining your love
I said get out of that place that's restraining you love

-- Nice, Naive and Beautiful -- Plumb

So what would you say to me
If you could talk to me
    You could ask anything
    I wouldn't lie

    -- Boys Don't Cry -- Plumb

    I watched you sit alone
I watched you cry your eyes out
Now tell me what you've done.
Is it so bad that I would shut you out
    And leave you here alone?

Yes I saw what you did
I was right there with you
    I wouldn't let you sink
    No, I forgive you.

    Phobic, don't be
Grace needs a little more freedom
    Phobic, don't be
    Love needs room to breathe

    You can be healed
    You can be free
    You can know peace
    Never be afraid again.

    -- Phobic -- Plumb

    Now I can breath
And I feel grace brush over me
    It pours through my skin
    And lets you in
    And we are free
    Now I can breath
And I feel grace brush over me
    It runs through my vains
And what I taste is bitter sweet

    -- Bittersweet -- Plumb

    Questions drip from my umbrella
    Shadows hang over me
    Stand here. waiting
I know the sky will break
    And bleed its light
And kiss my face with mercy
    I'll endure the rain
I will wait an hour more
Not sure if I'll see anything
    Can I wait here anymore
    I'll endure the rain
I will wait an hour more
Not sure if I'll see anything
Can I wait here any longer
    Teardrops vanish in a moment
    Rainbows hang over me
    Darkness fading
I know the sky will break
    And bleed its light
And kiss my face with mercy
Can I wait here any longer
    Wait here any longer

    -- Endure -- Plumb
