Walking down the streets of the city with a hard shell guitar case was
not easy. The avenues were long, the lights took forever to change and
then she had to dodge the people before she received any dirty looks.
Standing at the final stoplight before her building she noticed an old
homeless guy with missing front teeth hobble up to her. He was smiling
and he was looking directly at her. It was easy to feel a little
queasy, she did not like attracting attention, but she stood her ground
and looked on ahead.
"Can you play that?" he asked, pointing to the guitar case.
"Yes, I can." She responded, returning his smile.
"We know you can." He smiled and then gestured for her to cross the street.
"Thank you," she responded as she crossed the street. For some reason she was struck by the way he spoke and what he had said. "
We know" and then she thought of the man in Mark 5 and prayed for him.
