Sometimes I feel like I put God in a box. Sometimes I feel as
though, in the mundane walk of life I forget the God whom I serve. The
Bible says that Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and
forever (Heb 13:8), however, sometimes my actions read as he was great
yesterday, so-so today and who know what he'll be like forever.
Whenever I read or hear sermons preached on the old testament people of
God I get really excited. Who won't get excited at a little boy cutting
a giant down to size or three hundred men with just a trumpet and a
pitcher destroying their enemies' camp? [The bible's version of 300?
:)] Whenever I read about the compassion Jesus showed over the people
he came into contact with, or the way he defended the outcasts or the
Word I get excited.
Yet sometimes when I read these stories I feel disconnected from them,
I feel like they are just stories. The greatness of God gets lost in
the day to day routine and I believe that this is one of the things the
enemy enjoys a lot. Distracting us from God's greatness.
If God is the same yesterday, today and forever, then the same God who
parted the red sea is the same God I'm serving. If he's the same, then
the same God who healed the sick is the same God I'm serving. The same God who preformed miracles and wonders is the same God I'm serving. If I
believe he is the same, then why do I let myself doubt it?
I believe that the more we stop putting limits God's power, the more his power will be revealed through our lives. Let's stop putting him in a box and start letting him do what he wants to do.

Oh how true! And how exciting. You got me excited. I have a hard time doing that too...it really kinda sad how we limit God.
So true!
I will do so. Good advice.
I just finished listening to Faithful by Steve Fee. The song opens with that verse from Hebrews. Such a beautiful song. =)
It all comes down to trust. It always does.
