  • The Paradox

Here is something from someone's message ... (John MacArthur)

"Lord, high and Holy, meek and lowly.
Help us to learn the paradox.
That the way down is the way up.
That to be low is to be high.
That the broken heart is the healed heart.
That the crushed Spirit is the rejoicing Spirit.
That the repenting soul is the victorious soul.
That to have nothing is to really possess everything.
That to bear the Cross is to wear the Crown.
That to give is to receive.
Lord, we know that we can't see the stars in the daytime, but they're there, but when the night comes they shine so brightly.
Help us find your light in our darkness.
    Your joy in our sorrow.
    Your Grace in our sin.
    Your riches in our poverty.
And your life in our death.
We would be crucified so that we live, yet not us, but Christ.
We pray for those that don't know you today that they would open their hearts. They would say ‘No' to the passing world and yes to eternal life.
That they would never think to purchase their soul with earthly gain, or to profit if they were to gain the whole world and lose their soul... "

~ the paradox in the scriptures ~

one verse that is repeated in the gospels quite a few times:
"For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will save it." Luke 9:24 (NKJV)

"Most assuredly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it produces much grain. He who loves his life will lose it, and he who hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life." John 12:25 (NKJV)

"For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain." Philippians 1:21 (NKJV)

"Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross. Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. " Philippians 2:5-11 (NKJV)

Christ came to earth, it was this humility that in the end brought about exaltation.

In order to have life eternal we must first be dead to the world so that we may live in the spirit. that means putting aside the carnal and taking up the spiritual. A dead man is not affected by insults or praise ... he is dead... one must be dead to the insults and praise that the world will throw at you.
To live is Christ, to die is gain. Life only means something when you're following the Son. death is only gain when you're living in Him.

    ZOE - it's a God kindda life
